Frequently Asked Questions - Princess Parties

How do I book a party?
Email is best - cypresstearoom@gmail.com You can also reach us by phone at: 832-349-1356. Parties are on a first come basis. We prefer a three week notice, this gives you time to notify your party guests for the celebration.

What do I need to provide?
That's the best part of this party. You send out the invitations and arrive with the birthday princess.

When do you need the final RSVP count?
We will need your final RSVP’s no later than 5 days prior to the party. You may email it to us. This number does not include the birthday girl, there is no charge for her. The number you give us is what we will use to prepare for the party. Royal Tea Room will then determine the appropriate quantities of favors, food, and the advance cost of preparing for your party.

What time should guests arrive?
Guests should arrive at the time designated on the invitation. Please encourage them to be punctual. Parties are limited to 1-1/2 hrs in length. This is why we have a hostess to keep things moving and in order.

What happens if guests arrive late?
We have a pre-determined schedule so we are unable to wait for guests that arrive late. They may join the party at whatever point it has progressed to when arriving.

What should the children wear?
We encourage them to wear their own princess attire if possible. We do have a limited selection of gowns for guests to wear. It really depends on the amount of parties schedule for that day. The children do not get undressed if they so wish. Our costumes can be worn over a leotard or bathing suit. Therefore, we kindly request that your guests know they can wear either a leotard or bathing suit. You can remind your guests of this in your invitations.

Do you apply make-up?
Yes, in a child-like manner. We use light pink glittery blush, and nail polish.

What happens on Party Day?
You might want to arrive a few minutes early to meet the party hostess. The party area will be set up when you arrive. At the starting time, we begin with a nail painting/beauty session. Then we proceed to dress-up, now everyone is ready for mom to take pictures. Next we play a game or activity. Then time for tea and cup cakes, opening gifts and story time completes our party event. Party favors will be handed out when leaving. Activities are subject to change based on timing and number of guests.

What if there is bad weather or illness?
In case of bad weather or illness Royal Tea Room reserves the right to reschedule your party.  If the guest of honor becomes ill we will gladly work with you to choose an alternative date for your party. (based on availability)

What should be done for a child that has food allergies?
It will be your responsibility to check for food allergies and to inform us of any concerns. If a guest should have severe allergies that we are unable to accommodate then either you or the child’s parent should provide alternate refreshments for that child.

Are parents invited to stay for the party?
It is best if they can be dropped off.  This is a high energy party with make-up, dress-up, photo taking, eating, and lots of movement. We request that adults wait in area that is non-interfering for the party. Keeping the noise level down is also important so the party guests can hear and follow directions of the Party Hostess.

Can Siblings of the guest stay?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate unexpected guests or siblings of guests, as we prepare our parties based on the final head count given to us prior to the party.

Is the birthday girl included in the total number?
No, the birthday princess is always free. The RSVP number you tell us is attending will be guests only, not the birthday girl.

Is tipping appropriate?
A gratuity is not included, however if you fill you received good service, tipping is very much appreciated.

What if I need to cancel?
There are no refunds for cancellations however, we will gladly choose an alternate date for your party.

What form of payment is accepted?
We accept cash and credit cards, for the initial deposit. (sorry we don 't take American Express) A $50 deposit is required to hold your party date, deposits are non-refundable. The remaining party balance must be paid one week prior to the party.

What about food and drinks?
The party includes princess popcorn, pink lemonade, water, and cupcakes
No outside food or drinks are allowed.
